It is not difficult to remove a video card from a computer. From the tools you will need a Phillips screwdriver. Consider a sequential process of removing the video card from the motherboard.
How to remove a video card:
Before you remove a video card, you needDisconnect the wire that connects it to the monitor. If it's a VGA or DVI cable, it's not just plugged into a connector, but it's also screwed on for reliability with special rotating mounts.
Unscrew them, as a rule, is not difficulteven without a screwdriver. If an HDMI cable is used, there are no additional attachments, just pull the connector yourself carefully to disconnect it from the video card connector.
After that, you can open the system unit and start dismantling the video card itself. The procedure is as follows:
- Unscrew the bolt with which the bent metalthe frame of the video card is screwed to the back of the system unit. In some cases, the mount may be slightly different: the screw itself is screwed not by the video card itself, but by the component part of the rear panel of the case that tightly holds the card in place. In this case, you need to unscrew the bolt and remove this component from the grooves.
- Press on the plastic latches that hold the video card in the slot of the motherboard.
- When the latches bend in different directions, gently pull the graphics card out of the slot. To pull it is necessary first upwards, and then a little laterally, to release the metal frame of the card from the back panel of the case.
- Gently unplug the cables that the video card is connected to the power supply.
